WHAT IS THIS LIFE

The weekend is almost upon us. For some mid-week brain stimulation here are a few articles that I have found important, helpful and insightful this week.

WHAT IS THIS LIFE

Beyoncé is a young woman of colour who is undeniably successful at what she does. She has a huge say in her creative output, a strong control over her image and seems to balance her business with a family. In many senses, Beyoncé is an empowering and encouraging image for women in our world. However, following her performance at the VMAs this week, Beyoncé has been both praised and scruitinsed (again) for her stance on feminism. Can Beyoncé call herself a feminist whilst choosing to objectify herself?

Living the simple life gives helpful tips on how to declutter your world from unhealthy distractions. A simple reminder.

In our world of social media and tiny portable devices that keep the internet temptingly close, we can often isolate ourselves from each other. How to make small talk with strangers is one man's discovery of how breaking those social barriers can make us all happier.
